Dragon Palace in Santa Monica

I really enjoy the sizzling rice soup here. It's a solid portion with good flavor while not being over salted. The waiter Ben is also a super nice guy and always a friendly face.

Amazing service, the staff knew all of the dishes well and are very friendly. I will definitely be back. I wish felt authentic and the portions are sized well. I wish each dish had more meat though. The wontons and beef chow fun specifically.

Wonton soups were very bland. General Tso chicken was okay, nothing special. Also for 2 soups and a meal, it was $30. Very expensive for not that great food.

I would say Dragon Palace is pretty awesome in terms of their vegetarian offerings. Not only can you go the vegetable route, but they also serve meat substitutes such as tofu, wheat, and soy gluten. So if you used to love sweet and sour chicken, you can get Dragon Palaces gluten version. It is a little pricey, but the entrees are huge (easily 2-3 meals).

Ordered 3 dishes: Cashew Chicken, Almond Chicken, and Szechwan Chicken - lunch special, each dish costing $5.50 and each dish tasting exactly the same. We could not tell the difference between the 3. The dishes did contain chicken (I think).

They have the most amazing eggplant garlic sauce dish!!!! oh my goodness you'll be asking for more!!! I couldn't stop talking about this place! The service is great especially if you get the waiter Ben, he is about the sweetest! I love this place!!

The general Tso's Chicken was awful. I find it hard to believe this place has so many good reviews.

Great food and quick. Great service too; waiters work really hard. Lunch specials are a great value. They have high chairs and it's a good place for families.

The Orange chicken was very good... Too much sause on the Kung Pao and Beef and Broccoli. It was not as good as everyone says :)

Great owners, amazing food. Can't go wrong with a Chinese restaurant like this. Their chicken fried rice is one of the best I've had.

The hot and sour soup is excellent! Owners are super friendly and for the price point, you can't go wrong. Unfortunately, they're closed on thebdaybi crave Chinese food the most... Sunday.

I love this place and get take out regularly. It is classic "American Style" Chinese done consistently. Prices are incredibly reasonable (the Lunch specials they're almost giving away the food). The staff is friendly too. Easy parking lot in front and in the alley. Brings me back to great memories of the Chinese food I grew up with in the San Francisco bay area.

I absolutely LOVE this place and am so sad that they are CLOSING. Last day open is next week August 12th. I will miss the Lemon Chicken and the awesome service we have gotten for the past 25 years.

I've know this place since I was 8 years old. It's always maintained its quality.

I love when the low-profile restaurants serve great food. Golden Dragon is one of them. Fabulous shrimps, great flavor and friendly customer service. No charges for the smiles!

I'm ready for Dragon Palace to be my go-to Chinese place....And that basically sums it up. It's a tasty Chinese spot with prices that support patronage on a regular basis (you don't feel like you have to splurge for a night out here), but whose cuisine is not so unique or life-changing that you should drive from far and wide.The atmosphere inside reminds me very much of the local Chinese restaurant of my childhood (in the San Jose area). It's dated, but sweet inside: small, and certainly not trendy or fancy.Good chow mein is a must for me for any Chinese takeout experience, and Dragon Palace's chow mein is excellent. Yum!Quality veggies are another plus for this place. Much appreciated!

Comination Chow Fun in Soup is uncomparable!

I have always enjoyed Chinese food. This is the closet food to the way my father inlaw used to cook. Very good

Food is way too hot for just rice and chicken. Have to wait 10 minutes to enjoy it. The vegetable and chicken ratio makes it seem like theyre trying to save money on meat. Great customer service though

Been coming for years and they always know what I want the second I walk in the door. The service is amazing. They are so patient with my two boys and the giant mess they make. The 5.50 special is the best deal. Always recommend this place to people who ask about good Chinese food

Yes is cheap, but food is terrible. Perhaps I have another concept of what good Chinese food is. My chicken tasted like pure fat. My sisters veg fried rice had 3 broccoli the size of a penny. Sorry to those that like it.
